Janice M. Pilkenton

Janice Pilkenton practices law in the firm's civil litigation group assisting in the defense of professional service providers in malpractice cases. She practices both civil and administrative litigation and assists in the representation of insurance companies, small businesses, corporations, and medical and legal practices and practitioners. Ms. Pilkenton excels in negotiation settlements, preparing persuasive evidence for juries and arbitrators, and retaining and preparing experts for arbitration and trial.

Previously employed as in-house counsel for SAFECO Insurance in Portland, Ms. Pilkenton defended commercial clients in high exposure commercial and personal liability litigation throughout the state of Oregon. She defended tort claims and complex landlord/tenant cases, counseled claims adjusters regarding defense plans of action, and represented clients with significant excess exposure.

In addition, Ms. Pilkenton provides claims seminars on negotiations and on first and third party liability issues. She joined the firm as an associate in 2009.
